Site of historical interest

The Friends of Barclay Park decided to create a red, white and blue planting scheme along one pathway to celebrate and commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of HM Queen Elizabeth II. Barclays Bank, upon consideration of the project and the historic link between the bank and park, agreed to support the project. Members of the public were given the opportunity to purchase a tree/trees as memorials if they wished to do so.

Over 400 volunteer hours were logged as part of the project which received press coverage at the time.
