Free guided walk leaving from the Finesse Activity Centre, South Lake, Stanborough Park, Welwyn Garden City, AL8 6DQ.  This walk is graded Level 3 (where 1 is easiest and 4 is most challenging), is close to public transport and refreshments are available nearby.

Stanborough Reedmarsh

Woodland

This small nature reserve lies at the southern end of Stanborough Park, and comprises mainly reed beds, sedge marsh, and wet willow woodland; these are all rare habitats in Hertfordshire. The serve is important for species such as reed and sedge warblers, water voles, and water birds.

A short trail leading from Stanborough Park fives views over the marsh. Access to the reed marsh is restricted.

Enjoy a visit to Stanborough Park, a beautiful countryside park, with 2 lakes covering an area of 126 acres, on the outskirts of Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire.  The Park, with its many attractions, is enjoyed by hundreds of thousands of people each year. With something for all ages and tastes, the Park offers a rewarding day out for all the family. Take a gentle stroll, picnic or just laze away an afternoon relaxing in the award winning parklands.

Home of Stanborough Park Activity Centre, on the South Lake you can experience Sailing, Kayaking, Canoeing and Stand Up Paddleboarding in one of our many activity sessions.
