Park Information

The Ridgeway Local Park has successfully retained the prestigious Green Flag Award first won in 2009, it’s a great place to visit and a key part of the local community.

This small park has two distinct areas. The upper area is a more formal urban recreation space with a Multi Use Games Area, children’s play area, ornamental shrub planting and an open grass area ideal for a variety of recreation activities and is a great space to hold events.  The lower section, referred to as the Dell, is much more informal with a style of play equipment that reflects this incorporated into the natural landscape.  The easy access pathway into the Dell connects to the surrounding environment and provides a wildlife corridor between the woodland areas and adjacent farmland.

Over £150,000 of internal and external funding has been invested in the development of the park. Works to the open space have included a new older children’s play area and access route into the lower Dell area, and the protection of the shrub planting from rabbit grazing damage. The local community has helped plant trees within the park and the new play equipment has proved to be very popular and well used.
