Park Information

Carpenters Wood is owned and managed by Three Rivers District Council. The public are free to explore all areas by foot, however access for horse riders and cyclists is restricted to the Public Bridleways which is the area pathed around the perimeter.

An ancient woodland, over 400 years old, bluebells are an annual treat for walkers through the wood.  The best place to see them is to enter the wood at the Whitelands Avenue entrance (signposted), about half a mile from Chorleywood village shops, down Whitelands Avenue on the left.  We have a very active Friends Group who meet twice a month to maintain access and improve the woodland for visitors. Recently installed are three oak benches which provide places to sit and enjoy the fresh air, and we now have 12 bird and bat boxes around the woodland to encourage wildlife, some of which show signs of habitation.
